This summer I took the kids rafting. We put in at Dodge creek bridge and would float down to Touville. It is a nice little float with a couple of class 2 rapids. I would take one or two kids and would spend a couple of hours just having fun.

One afternoon I thought I would take Josh down.
One afternoon I thought I would take Josh down.I had gone down with everyone else and thought
it would be a perfect date. It was a nice little float and
we saw a couple of deer on the way down.
We got to the first class 2 and lets just say
it didn't go so well. The river was a little bit lower than
when I took the rest of the kids down. We got caught up
in some rocks and were stuck trying to get the Tahiti off
one of the rocks. We wedged our oars against the side and did a
what I call the inch worm maneuver.
( Lift your toosh and scoot forward,
move about 3 inches and do it again.)
It eventually worked and we finally got off the rocks.
After a few minutes we noticed that our boat was starting
to get a little soft on the sides. Not just one side but
both sides had suffered casualties. I'm sure we must have
looked quite silly.We had to lay on our stomach or lie down
flat going over the rest of the rapids so we didn't
loose too much air or take in too much water.
After each rapid we would have to pull over and
dump the water. At one point in the river the sides
were so soft Josh started to fall backward
and yelled for me to grab his hands and I practically fell in
trying to hold him up. It was hard not to laugh.
Luckily we made it and had quite an unforgettable date.
Needless to say Josh has decided we won't be going
on a cruise or any other sea faring vessel any time soon
With our luck it would sink like the Titanic.
