This week i got to go to pacific university for a week it was really fun

The Sunday I got back I had to give a talk in church. This pretty much summs it up. So here it is...
This week I went to Efy. It was Amazing, Stellar even.
I loved the spirit I felt while I was there.
I felt it every day. It was awesome!
Let me expain what EFY is
It's a massive collection of LDS kids that come to learn about
cool spiritual doctirnes and testimony building.
So think of the spirit you get when you are at the temple,
bring it down a notch
and that is what EFY feels like
And imagine you feel that way the entire week.
There were so many things we talked about so I'll just tell
you about some of them...
So we've all read about the Isrealites you know the guys that wandered in the wilderness with Moses for years and years. Well while they were out in the desert they came across these serpants and they started biting the people and a bunch of them were dying off. So Moses took his staff and told his people that all they had to do was look and they wouldn't die. A lot of people thought that sounded pretty stupid and so they didn't take Moses advice. They died because of the easyness of the task of looking
Sometimes we die spiritually because of the easyness of
what is asked
we don't read our scriptures
we don't say prayer
don't go to church
don't bear our testimony
which makes you forget the things you know to be true
We talked about the plan of salvation
We talked about the Atonement and how it goes hand in hand
with missionary work.
So Jesus suffered for all of our sins
Its our job to share with others so they can partake of His goodness
We talked about Stress and what causes stress
-sometimes we try to do too much stuff with too little time
-Sometimes we feel stressed because we drop the ball
-Sometimes we feel stressed because of things that happen
in life that we have no control over
-Sometimes we feel stress because of the weight of our
own sins
-Sometimes we feel stress because we FORGET the Lord
OK SO HOW DO WE HANDLE STRESS?
In one of the confrence talks it says we need to
put first things first
ask yourself is this GOOD, Better, or Best
Let the insignificant go
If you can't take it to Heaven with you than maybe it's not worth spending your day over.
And remember you can never feel stress
when you are serving others
Remember Gods promises.
In one of our classes we were asked to write down on a
piece of paper who our heroes were
I had on the top of my list
Jesus
then My Dad
my mom
heleman
moroni
Batman
Hulk & Wolverine
Afterwards He asked us what makes a hero
Are the ones we think of worthy of our respect?
Ask your self who are the heroes in your life?
In one of my other classes we learned about the meaning of
Priceless and what truelly is Priceless
knowledge
testimonies
marriages
family
covenants made
etc.
Have you ever had a day where you just don't feel Spiritual?
Well one of my teachers talked about Basketball? How
Sometimes you visualize making that basket. Holding your hand
just right and flicking your wrist, releasing the ball and score...
He related how we can do the same thing when we don't
feel very spiritual.
Start by Picturing a door.
Picture Jesus Knocking at that door... and think about what
you would say to Him.
The speaker talked about having a dirty room
I never have a dirty room so It's kind of hard for me to relate
Right Mom??? (hee, hee, hee)
Well anyways, he related that dirty room to having a dirty spirit
If your room or your spiritual room is dirty how would you
feel to have Jesus come and visit?
Are you ashamed to have him come visit and so when he
knocks you don't answer the door?
Now there is something you need to know
Jesus can't come into a dirty room ...
But by repenting and cleaning up the mess
Jesus can enter your room and the 2 of you can chill.
Now the same principle works with Satan too
Satan is knocking on the door too. Believe me he is knocking all the time
Do we let Satan in and Chill with him?
Or are we going to Chill with Jesus?
Jesus is upfront and honest when he knocks
where Satan might try to disguise himself
and even put on that spiderman costume and knock and
say hey can I come in
and hang out with you?
So we need to watch out who we let in
Ok so on Thursday was possibly all the way up to Temple
level in spirituality
The entire day was devoted to feeling the spirit
They had cool music. It was awesome to have
260 something kids my age singing
"We have been born as Nephi of old"
combined in a medely singing
"We are as the army of Heleman
We have been taught in our youth"
The place I felt the spirit the strongest was when they had
Testimony meeting.
When other people spoke you could
feel the truth burning in your heart.
I was able to bear my testimony too.
I felt so good when I talked about being a member of this
church and the feeling I felt was overwhelming.
I could feel the love that my Savior has for me.
I am so greatful that I was able to go to EFY
I'm even grateful that Bishop Pope asked me to talk right now
while it is fresh in my mind.
